Hi I have a discussion post about the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

  1. Why is understanding our healthcare system relevant in Community Psychology?
  2. Identify some issues with the healthcare system, presently, in the U.S.
  3. Explain if you support or oppose repealing the ACA. Support your position. You must provide data (not included in the chart) to support your position.

I need replies to students‘ posts.

Why is understanding our healthcare system relevant in Community Psychology?

Community Psychology has direct relevance to our healthcare system as they play a crucial role in determining systemic hindrances to the pink health of the citizens of the society. They do not always characterize their work with the help of any working models rather they take up tasks as social communities to address the health issues. They work in close proximity with the local governments or the non-governmental organizations for performing three key roles: Cultivating consumer involvement in health care, assistance to minority groups, roles in preventive health.

I vote in favor of establishing the Affordable Care Act and wish to enumerate the relevance it has with the Community Psychology. Health is a major issue in any segment of life and whatever reforms that are being taken for improving the same if analyzed falls short than required. It is always the prime responsibility of the government of any country to secure the health of its citizens and it also becomes the individual responsibility of the citizens to implement reforms in relation to that in their respective society towards other groups. The job of Psychologists in any field is always to bring those subjects into play that are either hidden or cannot be openly expressed. In this context also the role community psychologists are to overtake the subject of insuring the health of all the citizens across the states for maintaining a healthy structure. This job might sound like somewhat to be incorporated in to the government’s task sheet but certain people from the community stand in the forefront to act eradicate both major and minor health problems.

Identify some issues with the healthcare system, presently, in the US.

Even after spending huge amounts in the health care system, The United States of America’s health department does not take any position or finds a rank among the highest performers according to the Commonwealth Fund. There seem to be quite a number of issues associated with the healthcare department some of which are: Administrative inefficiency, Underperforming Primary Care and Lack of insurance coverage. These three are some of the major causes or issues that are prevalent in the healthcare system of the United States of America. 100 percent insurance coverage is something that the government tries to show but in reality, operationalizing those insurances has proved to be an utter failure.

Explain if you support or oppose repealing the ACA.

It has been seen that doctors and patients spend a lot of time claiming medical insurances designed by the government instead of resorting to private insurers who do the work swiftly and more efficiently. They even lack ideal insurance plans that are there with the countries that top the list of high performers. The primary care system is fragmented and disorganized. Outsourcing health care services is something that is the need of the hour in America right now. Things like doctor visits in local communities, subsidizing health check costs are something that needs to be introduced at the initial level rather than depending upon the intricate system of health services provided by the government. Though the common notion is that insurance coverage reduces mortality rates but the past demographic statistics of America reveal that one-tenth of the population still falls under the category that lacks sufficient capital to cover insurance claims. 100 percent insurance coverage in the country is a practical myth in the present scenario.

The above data prove that the repealing of the ACA must be stopped. People should realize the need for such reforms that are there for their own benefit. Entrusting their government officials completely for receiving health care benefits could make them fall into trouble as the timely discharge of necessary health meetings does not happen. These agencies will only help them to meet their health goals on time or at least they will act towards securing a better prospect and deduce health plans for them in the long term. Finally, we can conclude that the enactment of such laws is benefitting in order to attain a better future demographically in the health care segment as they will share the responsibility of the government to discharge better health services to all its citizens.
